New Delhi: Shruti Gupta Kasana presented a solo show "Sampurn Vrindavan" to showcase the life of Krishna by creating three distinct themes within one show: Krishna in Dwarka, his childhood in Vrindavan, and his love and compassion towards cows on December 07, 2024 at Open Palm Court, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
The event was inaugurated by Padmashri Krishn Kanhai, Senior artist and mentor Naresh Kapuria, Former captain of Indian women's cricket team Anjum Chopra, Dr. Neepa Choudhury (Ministry of Information & Broadcasting).
Guests including Jai Jai Sri Abhishek Goswami, Artist Jiten Hazarika, Artist Navita Kaushik & Artist Charumitra, Author Ritu Soni Bhagat, Art Photographer Manoj Arora to name a few graced the event.
The artist’s collection delved into the mythology surrounding India’s underwater city, Dwarka. According to Hindu mythology, the ancient city was established by Krishna after he vanquished his uncle Kansa. The magnificent city was cursed to sink beneath the waves after Krishna departed to the spiritual realm. By exploring the themes of Anterdweep; the Cowherd, Bovine Love, Passion; and Sampurn Vrindavan, the exhibition was a breath-taking spectacle for the viewers.
To enhance the show's intrigue, she also designed statement knitwear pieces, where she incorporated knitting, hand embroidery, applique patchwork, and Bengali Kantha techniques, that not only served as artistic expressions but also served as wearable garments, blending functionality with art seamlessly.
